1. ORDERS
1.1 Purchase of products
When you order a product from our website you are offering to buy it at the price stated, subject to these terms. We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of products appearing on the website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system.
Although products might be available to purchase online, most of our products will be made completely from scratch especially our MADE TO ORDER products. Please allow 3-4 weeks to complete the artisanal handwork, which take precision and time to perfect before it is shipped.We may send you and email regarding this, should you have to wait longer for your order.
We reserve the right to refuse an order. Non-acceptance of an order may, for example, result from one of the following:
• The product ordered being unavailable from stock
• Our inability to obtain authorization of payment
• The identification of an error within the product information, including price or promotion
1.2 PRE-ORDER
Ordering pieces on pre-order is usually 4-5 week lead time with a 4-5 day lead time on delivery thereafter or in the case of a new collection, we could drop a product anytime within that month. Please contact us, should you wish to find out how far in production your order is.Â
1.3 PRICES
Prices displayed on the site are shown in the South African Rand (ZAR). Prices are subject to change at any time.

No returns or exchanges on international orders. Please note that you may be charged taxes and customs by the country of entry. These charges are out of our control and are destination specific.
All our orders are consolidated and are sent off on Wednesdays.
1.3Â DELIVERY ADDRESS
We cannot be held responsible for an incorrect shipping address being entered while ordering on our website. If you complete your order and then notice that the address details are incorrect, please contact us immediately info@researchunit.co.za
1.4Â ORDER ACCEPTANCE AND CANCELLATION
Your receipt of an electronic or other form of order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. We reserve the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept, decline, or limit your order for any reason, whether or not your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has been charged and your order is cancelled, you will receive a refund credit to your account.
Once an order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled unless the shipment is unavoidably delayed. In this case, we will do our best to cancel the order if requested.
2. PAYMENT
2.1 Payment options
Research Unit accepts payment with PayFAST and PAYFLEX for easy payments terms as well as EFT.Â
Upon receiving your order we carry out a standard pre-authorization check on your payment card to ensure there are sufficient funds to fulfill the transaction. Goods will not be dispatched until this pre-authorization check has been completed. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to, or does not authorize payment for any reason, then you will be notified of this immediately prior to completing your purchase using the website at the check-out stage. Your card will be debited once the order has been accepted.
2.2. CUSTOMS AND DUTIESÂ
You may be liable for any customs and import duty, quotas, permits, product restrictions and other local requirements if your order is over and above the standard quota for customs and duties. The recipient of the parcel must pay these charges. Customs policies vary in each state or country around the world, therefore we suggest that you check the requirements in your country before placing an order. We will not be liable for any custom or import duties.
3. CHANGES IN PRODUCTS AND PRICING
We are constantly updating and revising our offerings of products, and we may discontinue products at any time without notice. For all our prices and products, we reserve the right to make adjustments due to changing market conditions, currency fluctuations, product discontinuation, manufacturer price changes, errors in advertisements, and other extenuating circumstances. All pricing for our products are subject to change at anytime. Please note that these terms and conditions only apply to purchasing on the online store and not in-store and whole sales orders as the the pricing structure is not the same
4. MANUFACTURING AND SHIPPING POLICY
Due to the handmade nature of the product, slight variations in finish might occur between products. This quality should be celebrated in light of all the homogeneous s#Â¥% out there. This coupled with the organic nature of the leather, produces what we like to call 'design details' that can never be repeated.
These details occur as a result of the effects of the environment on the animal as it goes about its daily life. Please refer to our "Product CARE" tab online or click on the link below to learn more about how to care for your product.
These design details add to the authenticity of the product making every one of our products unique.
We aim to get your product to you as soon as possible, please allow 2-3 weeks for manufacturing due to the quality and a labour intensive process as well as the handmade nature of our product.
Research Unit only ships orders once a week during office hours, and does not operate on public holidays and weekends.
Once an order has been registered and payment accepted, we arrange for our express couriers to collect your item. It is then in the care of the couriers.
Once you have received your parcel, please open it with care. Research Unit is not liable for any items damaged during the opening of your parcel.
Any guarantees or representations made as to delivery times are subject to any delays resulting from postal delays for which we will not be responsible.Please allow delay time over peak times such as Christmas, Valentines Day, Chinese New Year, MothersDay and Fathers Day.
Once an order has been registered and payment accepted, it is in the care of the courier company, customs of your state or country. We are not liable for any errors made by these services as well as any damages to the product.

6. ADVERTISING DISCLAIMER AND TRADEMARKS
We attempt to be as accurate as possible with products,descriptions and prices. However, we do not warrant that product descriptions or prices are accurate. In the event that a product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to typographical error or error in pricing or product information received from our suppliers and brands, we shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for products listed at the incorrect price. We shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, we shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it in accordance with our Return Policy.
7.OUR GUARANTEE
Research Unit offers a quality/factory guarantee all of our garments and travel goods. The guarantee covers unravelling of stitching and hand work. It does not cover wear and tear over time, negligence (eg. Washing bag in the machine) by not obeying the care instructions. We will however assist you in any way we can by allowing options to repair your bag/product to its initial state.
There is a 1 year guarantee on all clothing pieces and travel goods.
